Hank Baskett takes on a familiar role for his acting debut
Webseries are popping up everyday now as the new 'it' thing, but not all of them star a celebrity cast. Toplining the new series Supermoms is Joey Luaren Adams (United States of Tara) about a group of moms who are also superheroes out to save the world from Dr. Destructo. The series is produced by Jonathan Price (American Dreams) and funded by The Clorox Company, a manufacturer of household products.
The series also stars Kendra star/husband Hank Baskett in his acting debut, as a husband on Supermoms. "It was a lot of fun. I play the same role everyday as I do in the script," Baskett says with a laugh about his role in real life as a father to Hank Jr.
Hank got offered the role for Supermoms as he started dipping his feet into auditions. "I was nervous at first but the director said 'change these words and say them how you would say it' and that took away all my nerves."
Hold on critics. Don't start judging quite yet. "I dont care what critic is out there. I have the hardest acting critic out there. I practice with Kendra, my acting coach. It was so funny. I would say something and she would say 'No I need you to feel like you believe in the character."
Although this is his debut as an actor, Baskett is taking things slowly. "You gotta crawl before you can walk, but I'd love an Oscar nomination."
Supermoms premieres a new episode every Tuesday on the Supermoms Facebook page and across the Joost Media Network. Julie Warner, Lourdes Benedicto, Brennan Hesser also star.
