Anthony Green Beautiful Things Review
I will be reviewing Anthony Greens Beautiful Things.
This is the second studio by Circa Survive’s vocalist, Anthony Green. While Antohony Green is the singer for Circa Survive he has done some solo projects as well as side projects. His sound is quite noticeable and is one of the more diverse vocalists and has a sound that really stands out.
“Do It Right” is one song that is just a really simple song, just have vocals and some back up vocals and just clapping helping with the tempo of the song. It is probably one of the toned down songs in terms of instruments off the album.
“When I’m On Pills” is kind of reminiscent to that of The Clash. It sounds like something off of Sandinista, most of the songs off that album had a dub vibe to them and electronic feel and this is the same kind of feel I get when listening to this song.
The album has got some mellow music throughout that could be e similar to that of Joe Strummer’s solo work and different music style range throughout the album. It is also the fact that not one song is that much similar in sound. This is an album that is mean to be enjoyed sitting back, relaxing and just listening to the music.
Overall I would rate this album 4/5. The album is one of those albums that being released as a solo album, is nothing like what most solo albums offers to fans and are just more mellow and slowed down songs on an acoustic guitar. This album is everything but that. This album is a must have for fans of Circa Survive, Craig Owens or The Sound Of Animals Fighting.
