Secrets The Ascent Review
I will be reviewing Secrets The Ascent.
The Ascent is the debut LP from San Diego, CA post-hardcore five-piece Secrets. The record was released on Jan. 17 on Velocity/Rise Records and was produced by Tom Denney (formerly of A Day To Remember.)
The album has slower paced songs, drums sound electronic and some pop punk mixed with hardcore throughout the album. While Tom Denney of ADTR produced the album, you can hear in the songs some similarity to A Day To Remember, and how they switch from pop punk to hardcore kind of breakdowns within the songs. Lyrically the band is comparable to The Word Alive, with some songs talking about burning bridges with friends and getting revenge against old friends/enemies.
